How to Reboot yourself in Quarantine?

It may feel that world is going up in flames but there is "HOPE" in the selfless Health Workers risking their lives.

In the meantime, we need to stay at home to not only protect ourselves but our neighbors, our communities and the world.

Let's make the Best of Quarantine, you are not Alone.

And, there is no point in us focusing on the chaos we can't control. So, why not focus on the things we can control, like yourself and more importantly, your time.

Remember, rebooting yourself doesn't just mean that you look a certain way, it's bigger than that. It's about how you feel inside too.

This Month's Choices are Next Month's Result.

Step 1 - Food

There is nothing in life as important as good health because without it, nothing else really matters. Nutrition is closely related to health. What you eat does not only affect your image but it gives you vitality to conquer goals.

Especially, at this time, do everything you can do to keep your immune system strong.

Here's a wellness drink, I like to drink that has tons of Health Benefits.

Recipe of Kadha

Ingredients:

  • 4 fresh garlic cloves – chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
  • 1-inch cinnamon stick
  • 4 cups water
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp raw honey
  • 1 tbsp mint leaves

Method:

Boil the water in a pan. Add all ingredients except honey, cover and steep for 30 minutes. Strain, pour in a glass and add raw honey or maple syrup to taste. Drink warm.

Step 2 - Drink lots of Water

Drink tons of water. Water has his own health benefits.

If you find yourself munching over food all day, upping your water intake can really help because it will keep you fuller.

Sometimes you are not even Hungry. you are Thirsty. So, drink a big glass of water before having a meal ( Have meal at least after 15 mins of drinking water).

Water helps getting clear skin, prevent bad breath, cleanses the liver, kidney and blood, promotes mental clarity and aids weight loss.

Step 3 - Exercise

Exercise is definitely tough in quarantine, given our small spaces and lack of equipment. But, it's important to keep your moment up.

Online is our best friend for this. An online resource, I have been going to is BHANGRAlicious on YouTube.

You can check her out. The exercises there are quite fun. So, anyone can do that. Most importantly, No equipment necessary.

When there is Will, there is a Way.

Step 4 - Pamper yourself

There is something so therapeutic about the process of pampering yourself. It's a cherish moment with some self care products and music.

Let's begin

Here's a DIY Recipe to whiten your teeth -

1. Take some toothpaste.

2. Add 1 tsp of Baking Soda in it.

3. Add 1 tsp of Hydrogen peroxide in it.

4. And 1/2(half) tsp of water.

Mix it together and brush your teeth once or twice a week with it.

Or a simple method is, just brush your teeth with Baking Soda a couple times.

NOTE - Don't overdo because it will damage the enamel if you do it too often.

To exfoliate your lips, Just wet your finger and dip it in sugar. Rub it on your lips and then rinse off. Followed by Lip Balms or alternatives like Vaseline or even desi ghee (clarified butter).

You can make DIY face masks too, One can of Besan (Gram flour) and Haldi (turmeric) or with coffee too.

And the last but not the least, Ask your Dadi/Nani (Grandmothers), they know hell lot of Nuskas (Today's time DIYs).

Remember,

Make yourself a priority.

Step 5 - Declutter your life

OKAY, delete photos, delete apps, change a wallpaper on your phone/desktop and make the display look neater, clean the windows, wash your sink, rearrange some furniture, wash your bed sheets, clean your closet.

Check out your school/college/office papers, How are they looking? Are they organized?

Just Declutter your life. So, you can think clear on average and make a room for a fresh new you.

You can also work on your weakness or upgrade your skill set. Even if you find nothing, start reading books. They'll give you new perspective to look.

And when your head hits the pillow tonight, after a full busy day, making a best of it. Remind yourself that you are doing great job. Be patient with yourself and remember that big things are not achieved all at once but one day at time.

Consistency is a key to Rebooting yourself and it's hard when you  feel alone in Quarantine. But you have got to learn to clap for yourself. Be accountable for yourself and Be your own biggest FAN.(Just like "Jab we met" wali "Geet" -- Mai Apni Favorite hu.)

Why to Follow a ROUTINE ??

Change is something, I believe anyone can accomplish; if they are willing to do, what it takes in order to complete the change. Many people have the preconceived notion that you are who you are, and "WHO YOU ARE" has been determined since you were young. But I know that is not true.. Okay! I am not gonna tell that this is what I do in my daily routines. Or you can follow this kind of routine Or That you should wake up early, do workout in early morning. NOOOO...! I am gonna tell why there is need to follow/build a "ROUTINE". The routine you follow is something that makes you, YOU! Yeah, I know! Sticking to a routine is difficult. It always is. But, If you do what you always did, you will always get what you always got. Just like brushing your teeth in morning, adhering to routine allows us to foster habits that match our goals and aspirations. The beauty of designing a set routine is that is forces us to PRIORITIZE and decide what is important to us. It helps you to...
